mdgroup and The Patient View Announce Strategic Collaboration to Strengthen Patient-Centered Clinical Trials

New collaboration enables sponsors to gain direct patient insights before, during, and after clinical trials, helping create more feasible protocols and better patient experiences.

August 20, 2026 – mdgroup, a global provider of patient support services for clinical research, today announced a new collaboration with The Patient View, bringing together complementary expertise to help sponsors design and deliver clinical trials that better meet the needs of patients.

The collaboration strengthens both organizations’ service offerings by creating a more connected approach to patient engagement across the clinical trial lifecycle. By combining The Patient View’s expertise in qualitative patient insight with mdgroup’s global patient support services, sponsors can more easily translate patient feedback into practical actions that improve the patient experience.

This provides continuity between understanding patient needs and delivering meaningful support, helping sponsors reduce patient burden while improving study feasibility, engagement, and retention.

Through the collaboration, sponsors can access professionally moderated discussions with people living with the condition being studied. These qualitative conversations provide insight directly from patients into protocol feasibility, patient burden, and the practical realities of trial participation, rather than relying solely on assumptions or survey data.

Patient insights can be gathered throughout the clinical trial lifecycle, from identifying potential barriers and optimizing protocols during study planning to monitoring the patient experience during a trial and informing future research through post-study interviews. Unlike traditional surveys, The Patient View conducts moderator-led qualitative interviews that enable deeper, more open discussion. Sponsors can observe sessions live and work with the moderator to explore emerging themes and areas of interest in real time.

Where patient insights identify opportunities to reduce patient burden, mdgroup can seamlessly deliver tailored support services including patient travel, decentralized clinical services, patient payments, and personalized patient coordination. This creates a connected pathway from patient insight to patient action, enabling sponsors to work through a coordinated approach rather than managing multiple disconnected processes.

The collaboration is applicable across all therapeutic areas and disease states, supporting sponsors and CROs with studies ranging from common conditions to rare diseases.

“Our goal has always been to remove barriers to clinical trial participation,” said LaQuinta Jernigan, Chief Commercial Officer at mdgroup. “By bringing together authentic patient insight with practical patient support, we’re strengthening the way sponsors can design and deliver patient-centered clinical trials. Together, we’re helping turn patient feedback into meaningful action that improves both the patient experience and trial outcomes.”

Kelly Franchetti, CEO and Co-Founder of The Patient View, added: ”The best clinical trials are built with patients, not just for them. This collaboration gives sponsors the opportunity to hear directly from the people they’re designing studies for and use those insights to shape a clinical trial experience that actually reflects what patients want and need”.

Together, mdgroup and The Patient View are helping sponsors move beyond patient-centered intentions by embedding the patient voice throughout the clinical trial journey, from protocol development through to study completion.
