Prioritising Student Wellbeing

mdeducational foundation is a charity prioritising student wellbeing by providing fully funded wellbeing support in schools across the UK and Ireland.

It was set up by the Founder of mdgroup and Executive Chair, Miriam Dervan, & the CEO of mdgroup, Tarquin Scadding-Hunt.

Miriam and Tarquin identified a significant gap in wellbeing provisions for students aged 16-18 years old. They became extremely passionate about changing the script for today’s young people and giving back to the local community with the provision of early intervention support for 16-18-year-olds – providing much-needed support for young people’s wellbeing needs through education and beyond.

The charity’s mission is for all post-16 students to feel supported in every aspect of their wellbeing, helping them on their journey to a brighter future. They are aiming for a world in which every student has access to the wellbeing support they need, without delay.

mdeducational foundation does this by providing a three-year salary-funded commitment to placing dedicated wellbeing professionals within post-16 educational settings across the UK and Ireland. The Wellbeing Leads promote positive wellbeing through the delivery of an agile, bespoke wellbeing curriculum by normalising student psychological fitness and resilience. By funding the placement of Wellbeing Leads into post-16 settings, mdeducational foundation is enabling educational settings to kickstart their long-term wellbeing strategies and putting student wellbeing at the forefront of education.
