Christopher Kennedy has recently joined the mdgroup team as Chief Operating Officer, based out of our North Carolina office.
Christopher has been working in the Healthcare Provider, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, and Medical Device sectors for the last 20 years, and is a champion for improving the patient experience in all facets of care.
Here we talk to Christopher about his experience, passion and how he’s supporting us to create remarkable patient experiences.
What is your role and your key responsibilities at mdgroup?
To be a great teammate and lead by example. Our organisation finds ourselves on a very noble mission – delivering patients, providers, and clients with remarkable experiences.
The clinical trial space is evolving rapidly and being at the front of the clinical trial participant discussion is an exciting place to be. mdgroup is leading the charge in the decentralised trial landscape and our focus on enhancing the patient experience using digital technology was naturally a great mission for me to join.
What are you most passionate about in your field of expertise?
Patients! Healthcare is something we can all relate to and patient experience is something we’re all a part of at some point in our lives. It’s actually a common language that unifies us around the globe. Working on behalf of people in need is nothing short of inspiring. It’s an honor to work with clinical trial participants that are leading by example in helping to advance medicine for us all.
How do you translate that passion into action?
Commitment and high-performance accountability. In the end, life comes down to these elements in terms of impact. How effectively do we take great ideas from the whiteboard and actually implement them as innovative marketplace solutions? Are we committed to seeing the mission all the way through? Are we measuring performance? These questions are what fuel our engine of improvement and challenge us to go above and beyond to reach “remarkable” for our customers.
What do you hope to see evolve within the clinical industry over the next five years?
Connecting measurable patient experience metrics with real-time clinical data analytics is the way forward. Empowering clinical trial participants in their journey towards reaching study endpoints is paramount to all that we do. Improving participant recruitment, engagement, retention, and outcomes all starts and ends with the patient themselves. Understanding how digital technology can help facilitate this in a more seamless fashion will continue to be the key.
How is mdgroup a part of this evolution?
We are leading the clinical trial patient experience initiative for our CRO and Pharma clients. Our expertise in delivering remarkable experiences empowers patients in their individual journeys to reaching clinical study endpoints. Our in-house technology development capabilities allow for customized solutions designed to meet patients at their particular digital comfort level. Our emphasis on patient feedback will keep mdgroup at the forefront of decentralized trial evolution.
What are you most excited about bringing to your role at mdgroup?
A strong commitment to listening and learning. mdgroup has established a learning culture that truly embraces change. Our ability to listen to our patients is critical to delivering our remarkable services. I also look forward to learning from the inspiring team that makes up the mdgroup family.
What do you do when you’re not working?
I am blessed to have a wonderful family at the center of my world. My wife is our inspiring leader and she successfully manages our four energetic children and two hungry dogs. We enjoy spending time camping, hiking, biking, and playing any sport you can think of.
